Ms. Pushpa Nachhiring (above) is an Assistant Program Manager for HRPDFN and director of work in Eastern Solukhumbu. She started working with us in 2019.
Like Anji and Lakpa, Pushpa is from Solukhumbu as well. She is a nurse who has worked in large hospitals in both Kathmandu and Phaplu (the district capital of Solukhumbu). During this time, she gained particular experience in maternal-newborn care while working on the maternity ward.
Ms. Ang Jangmu Sherpa (“Anji”, pictured at left) is the director of operations of a Nepal-based not-for-profit organization: Human Rights and Peace Development Forum Nepal (HRPDFN), which is our in-country partner organization. Ang Jangmu leads all program activities in Nepal. We have known her since 2008 when she was hired to be a community-based field manager for an antenatal care program in a different area of Nepal.
Anji is a native of Solukhumbu District in eastern Nepal, which is home of the famous Sherpa people. A nurse by training, she also is a government-certified Skilled Birth Attendant and Master Trainer in numerous Nepal and international maternal newborn programs.
Mr. Lakpa Lama (above) is an Assistant Program Manager for HRPDFN and director of work in Western Solukhumbu. He joined our program in 2017.
Lakpa is also from Solukhumbu District. During his studies as a Health Assistant (similar to a physician’s assistant in the United States), he volunteered for clinical work at various health care facilities around Solukhumbu. Upon graduating, he then worked with another Solukhumbu-based organization as a supervisor on maternal and child health projects.
